Releasing Resentment --Holding on to resentment is not beneficial. It causes stress on our mind, body and spirit. Here are a few things to do to help release the resentment that you are holding on to:
Rid yourself of emotional baggage that is weighing you down & holding you back.
Let go of pain
Work through unfinished business
FORGIVE OTHERS AND YOURSELF!
Letting Go Of The Past -- You cannot enjoy today unless you let go of the past.
Hanging on is only hurting us!
We must live in th present moment and live life to the fullest.
We cannot change the past.
NOW is the only time we can experience!
Ways We Hold Onto Past Hurts
Holding a Grudge
Using "painkillers & emptiness fillers" --work, gambling, shopping, tranquillers, food or liquor.
Low Self-Esteem -- acting out our belief that we were hurt because we were somehow "not good enough". This causes us to create behaviors that hurt ourselves
Playing it safe -- not expecting good things to happen for "protection."
Build walls around us -- sarcasm, get along without getting close, retreat, visible barriers and don't let others know you.
We damage relationships
We repeat the past
